Measures to support accessibility
onlinelessonhub takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of onlineLessonhub:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
- Overall, I'm developing and improving the user experience on a daily basis regarding accessibility and inclusive design. This is being done based on research and certifications in accessibility in digital learning as well as input from users of different abilities and disabilities.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. onlineLessonhub is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
OnlineLessonhub is building on the accessibility requirements to be fully compliant with level A and is also working towards some requirements of level AA. For example, some level AA requirements in place are: synchronized live captions are provided for live lessons and pre-recorded videos that have sound, interactive items have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1, multiple ways to navigate the content inside the student library is available for modules and video content and interactive items for video and lesson content inside student library have consistent identification.
